How are the mail and attachments referenced specifically

We spoke on the phone on Monday (karimfrom Toronto Canada). The question I have is about the mailexportwiz. How are the mail and attachments reference. Specifically if I am writing a front end to retrieve an email, how do I know what attachments belongs to which email?
A directory (folder) is created for each exported view. A text file is created for each message in the corresponding directory. It is named with a unique reference number (and can optionally be suffixed with the subject of the message or part of). Then all the attachments for that messages are extracted to the same directory and prefixed with that same unique reference. (please note: There is also an other option to save attachments to their own subdirectory of the same name as the unique reference number). I hope this clarifies it.
